Asia Travel Guide 2026: Ultimate 21-Day Itinerary for 5 Countries Under Rs 2 Lakh From India

Introduction: Why Asia Is The Smartest First Big Trip From India

You don't need Rs 5 lakhs or a Schengen appointment to see the world. Asia gives you everything — snow temples in Japan, emerald rice terraces in Bali, turquoise lagoons in Thailand, and a futuristic skyline in Singapore — all within a 6-hour flight from Ahmedabad.

In 2026, Asia is cheaper than ever for Indians. Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Sri Lanka offer visa-free or e-visa in 24 hours. AirAsia and IndiGo have made return flights to Bangkok and Bali under Rs 22,000 if you book 60 days early.

This is my tested 21-day route that connects 5 countries in one loop with ZERO backtracking. Copy it exactly.

Days 1-6: Bali, Indonesia - The Spiritual Start

Visa: Free e-VOA, 30 days, apply at molina.imigrasi.go.id — takes 5 minutes in 2026.

Why start here: Jet lag is minimal, Bali is slow. You recover from travel stress here.

Ubud is not Kuta. Stay in Ubud for first 3 nights. Wake at 5:30 AM for Tegallalang Rice Terraces — the image you see above is exactly how it looks at sunrise, mist rising over the terraces, incense burning. No filter needed. Go to Tirta Empul water temple for purification, Campuhan Ridge Walk at sunset.

Days 4-6: Uluwatu & Nusa Penida. Uluwatu cliff temple at sunset, then take a 30-minute fast boat to Nusa Penida for Kelingking Beach. The T-Rex cliff is real and even more dramatic in person.

Bali Budget Hack: Rent a scooter for Rs 400/day. A private villa with pool in Ubud costs Rs 2500/night — cheaper than a 3-star hotel in Mumbai. Eat at warungs — Nasi Goreng + juice = Rs 180.

Cost for 6 days: Rs 32,000 including stay, food, scooter, and tours.

Days 7-12: Thailand - Beaches and Chaos in Balance

Take a direct flight Bali (DPS) to Bangkok (DMK) on AirAsia — Rs 6,500.

Visa: Free visa-free entry for Indians till Dec 2026, 60 days.

Bangkok 2 days: Chatuchak Weekend Market (15,000 stalls), Wat Arun at sunset, and street food in Chinatown (Yaowarat) — try mango sticky rice.

Phi Phi Islands 4 days: This is where your third image comes in.

Fly to Krabi (1 hour, Rs 2,800), stay in Ao Nang. Take a 7 AM longtail boat to Pi Leh Lagoon — the image above — before 100 boats arrive. Turquoise water so clear you see fish, limestone cliffs 100 meters high. Do a night kayak to see bioluminescent plankton — it glows when you paddle.

Budget in Thailand: Hostels Rs 800, luxury resorts Rs 3000. Street pad thai Rs 120. Total 6 days: Rs 28,000.

Days 13-16: Singapore - The Future is Clean

Take a flight Krabi to Singapore on Scoot — Rs 5,500.

Visa: E-visa, 48 hours via Thomas Cook or MakeMyTrip, Rs 2,400.

Singapore is not expensive if you do it right. This image shows Gardens by the Bay Supertrees and Marina Bay Sands at night — the light show is free every night at 7:45 PM and 8:45 PM. Just sit on the grass.

Day 13: Merlion, Marina Bay, Lau Pa Sat hawker center — chicken rice for SGD 4.5.

Day 14: Sentosa is overrated. Go to Pulau Ubin — a 10-minute bumboat ride, you cycle through 1960s Singapore village. Zero tourists.

Day 15-16: Jewel Changi Airport — the world's tallest indoor waterfall. You can spend 4 hours there before your flight and it's free.

Total cost: Rs 25,000 for 3 days (Singapore is priciest in Asia but small).

Days 17-21: Japan - The Grand Finale

Flight Singapore to Tokyo/Osaka on ZipAir — Rs 15,000 return to India can be routed via Tokyo.

Visa: Japan e-visa for Indians now takes 7 days, Rs 700.

Japan is the Japan you dream of in spring. The second image — Kyoto's Yasaka Pagoda with cherry blossoms falling — happens late March to early April. Even if you go off-season, Arashiyama Bamboo Grove and Fushimi Inari red gates are magical year-round.

Smart Route:
Osaka 1 day (Dotonbori street food), Kyoto 2 days (temples, Gion at dusk), Tokyo 2 days (Shibuya crossing, TeamLab Borderless, Tsukiji breakfast).

Money Saver: Japan Rail Pass 5-day for Rs 18,000 covers bullet trains. Convenience stores (7-Eleven) sell full meals for Rs 350 — this is what locals eat, and it's delicious and healthy. No need for expensive restaurants.

Total cost: Rs 55,000 for 5 days.
